Our Sportingbet review covers everything you need to know about the online bookmaker, from claiming a sign-up offer to in-play betting markets. Here’s what you can expect to find in our comprehensive review:

About Sportingbet Sportsbook

Sportingbet has been around for many years and is still one of the better UK sports betting sites.

While solid in many ways, Sportingbet does disappoint when it comes to free bets, promotions, and bonus offers. This is especially true when comparing them to other established brands that place a stronger emphasis on free bet promotions.

Yet, that does not take away from the value they offer punters. Sportingbet focuses on providing good odds for a ton of sports, and not on the minimal bonuses that generally have little effect on your bankroll.

Sportingbet Sportsbook Free Bet, Promo & Bonus Code

Sportingbet currently offers a deposit bonus, but not an exclusive Bookies Review deal.

Sportingbet does offer price boosts and enhanced accas that provide good value, while its promotions for existing customers have an element of personalisation that takes them to a different level when compared to other bookies.

The acca focus in particular is a decent offer, with insurance features, free weekly bets on accas and also the aforementioned price boosts around accas.

All in all, Sportingbet does a decent job when it comes to free bets and promos, but doesn’t blow away the competition by any means.

In-Play & Cashout with Sportingbet

Sportingbet offers in-play betting on the top football, tennis, and match based sports betting services, and we’d go as far as to say it’s one of the leading bookies when it comes to in-play betting.

As well as the vast number of markets available for the in-play feature, there are also a decent amount of sub-markets that you can bet on in-play with Sportingbet.

It’s under the live betting section of the site and also falls in each section of each category – like football for example. The user experience is a little basic and doesn’t overwhelm, but does what it needs to do in providing users with in-play odds. There are live streaming options too for some of the key sports.

Cashout is available on some single and multiple markets, but you’ll need to check this once you’ve placed a bet. You can filter down your bet slips once bets are placed and check out those bets that have cashout available. It’s noticeable that there’s a lack of partial cashouts available, however.

Desktop & Website Based Experience with Sportingbet

The Sportingbet website, at least in our option is somewhat lackluster and needs some modernising. A nice touch is that Sportingbet sportsbook supports a sheer volume of different currencies.

Other than the standard British pounds and Euro, customers will find that Australian / Canadian / Hong Kong / Singapore and US dollar deposits are accepted. This is ideal for punters who live outside the UK, or high rollers that might have money in multiple currencies. The website is offered in more than 16 languages and available via instant play, mobile, and download software.

In general, we’d say the website is simple, effective but underwhelming. That said, it’s technically and structurally sound, and is easy enough to navigate and find what you need. For many punters, these will be the most important factors.

Sportingbet Review: Mobile Website & App Based Experience

The Sportingbet mobile app is available on Android and iOS and is a solid offering. All the positives of the desktop website version of Sportingbet are ported across to the mobile app, and it’s a positive user experience in our opinion.

The mobile version of the website is equally robust, and operates smoothly in exactly the same manner as the full version.

Sportingbet has different apps for its sportsbook and casino versions, so if you’re wanting to use both you’ll need to make separate downloads.

A Review of Safety & Security When Using Sportingbet

Sportingbet fulfils the basic safety and security measures you’d expect of a major bookie, and is of course fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

The tech security in place is very good and reassuring for punters, with user data well protected by a multi-layered security system, and the privacy policy is transparent with a vast amount of info available with regards to cookies, data usage etc.

Sportingbet also scores points on the customer welfare care front, as it has an impressive array of measures in place to ensure punters are not easily able to spiral out of control with their activity.

Self exclusions and deposit limits, with what you could call a “cooling off” period where punters are unable to increase their betting limits in an impulsive manner, are all big positives and show that Sportingbet are not out to benefit from customers at any cost.

Customer Service & Support Experience

While its customer care facility has limited methods of contact, Sportingbet’s help centre is one of the more extensive I have seen online. The library of Q&A topics goes beyond promotions, games, registration, etc.

Sportingbet provides a lot information on different gaming options, legal advice, security, payments, points, and responsible gaming. However, those who need to contact support can do so via email or one of the available telephone numbers.

The phone service has working hours limitations, and the live chat on the website/app also operates within a daily timeframe, but you can of course email at any time and the response is pretty fast.

Sportingbet Review: Final Overview

Where Sportingbet may fall slightly behind its competitors on free bets, welcome bonuses, promotions etc, it more than makes up for in other important areas.

Great odds, excellent in-play betting and a superior approach to customer safety, welfare and service are all big pluses in our eyes for Sportingbet, and if you place more emphasis on these areas than on a quick free £10 bet for signing up, we think you won’t be disappointed.
